We all love change right?

We all love change right?

Yup! As we progress in our lives, we try to make things better and better for people around us. Changing anything does not mean that you completely change everything but keeping previous good elements and eliminating or improving on flawed ones.
So here comes my newly "dressed up" blog. :D

Shah Jo Risalo - Intro

I've decided to narrate the series of poems of Shah jo Risalo written by Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai (SALB). The book consists of 29 poems in total. Every poem has been given a title of "Sur" meaning "a musical note". Every sur or note is then divided into different stories (daastaan), like first poem is divided into 3 stories. Shah Jo Risalo - Chapter 1 - Sur Kalyan - Peace

Click links of each stanza to read more.

The One Creator, the all greats;
Lord of the universe
The living, the original;
Ruler with power innate;
The giver, the sustainer,
the unique , compassionate;
This master praise, to Him alone
thyself in praise prostrate..
The generous, who does create
the universe in pairs

None shares His glory, "He was..is,
shall be"..who this doth say
Accepts Mohammad as 'guide'
with heart and love's true sway;
None from amongst those lost their way
or ever went astray.

”He is without a partner” , when
this glorious news you break
With love & knowledge, Mohammad
accept ..as cause him take
Why would you then obeisance make
to others after that?

From One, many to being came;
'many' but Oneness is;
Don't get confounded, Reality
is 'One' , this truth don't miss
Commotions vast display - all this
I vow, of Loved-one is.

The Echo and the call are same,
if you sound's secret knew
They both were one, but two became
only when 'hearing' came.

A thousand doors and windows too,
the palace has ..but see,
Wherever I might go or be
master confronts me there

If you have learnt to long, by pain
be not distressed-
Secret of love's sorrow must be
never confessed-
Suffering is by the heart caressed,
and there it is preserved.

The poison-drinking lovers, lured
by poison sweet, drink more and more;
To bitterness of fatal cup,
the poison-drinkers are inured,
Though wounds are festering, and uncured,
no whispers to the vulgar goes.

All from Beloved's side is sweet
whatever He gives to you.
There is no bitter, if you knew
the secret how to taste.

There is a call to gallows, friends,
will any of you go!
Those who do talk of love may Know
to gallows they must speed.

If you a draught desire
to tavern find your way;
Thy head do sever, and that head
beside the barrel lay;
Only when you this price do pay
then few cups you may quaff

The genuine lover, for his head
care and concern has none;
He cuts it off---joins it with breath
as gift then hands it on ;
Carves down to shoulders, from loved-one
then begs for love's return

To guard and to preserve the head,
the lover's business is not this---
One of beloved's glance is worth
so many hundreds head of his---
Flesh, skin and bone, and all there is ,
the 'least ' of loved-one , equals not.

Some stories have a concluding stanza (Wayee) as well.

Now the question is that why and how SALB has created such divisions and partitions? and what message is he trying to deliver through his poems? We (yes we = me + YOU) will try to find this during this narration.

The books I am using for narration are these two:

1- Shah jo Risalo (Sindhi version) - compiled by Abdul-Majid Bhurgri
2- Shah jo Risalo (English version) - translated by Shah Elsa Kazi

I guess we are going to have fun on this roller coaster ride :)

Right time to leave your virtual home!

I loved my place. I made great friends over there, learned about so many things. Among all other places and homes, it was the only one which gave me a sense of unity and collectivism. The right to say and share anything with my friends was so beautiful that I urged my other friends to come to my home and enjoy lives collectively.... What I really liked about my home was the religion-less boundaries, anyone at anytime, from any religion and belief could come and share his feelings with me and others....

But things have changed now!

We all are living in this digital era, in which every person has a virtual home. People live there, enjoy their time, talk with other friends, play games, check about the latest happenings etc. Facebook served its purpose of creating this whole world a single home to connect with everyone without any problems. Now Facebook is a country(homepage) of millions of people (citizens).

From many days, I was thinking about the thing which made Facebook so popular. Collectivism made it popular! Whether you belong to East or West, Asia or America, Islam or Christianity, you can join this ONE home!

Now, when Facebook has started to show disrespect to Islam and Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), by promoting an event on this huge platform (just imagine a group of people are holding banners and cartoons and propagandizing this "Draw cartoons" thing on streets while YOU look out of your home's window), it has decided to finish itself!

Not even Muslims, but people from other religion and countries are quitting facebook as well and they have decided to celebrate "Quit Facebook Day" on 31st May. Their reasons to quit facebook are different (Releasing user data, unfair trade compliant, difficult profile lock-down method etc), but result and final decision is the same! The counter at "quitfacebookday" site shows 13968 quitters right now, including me as well and I will encourage you to add your vote as well.

And people who think that it's just about one page, users will again start using facebook and blah blah... Please go to wikipedia and search about this "Proper Annual Event of drawing cartoons" So NO we Muslims will face this crappy group of Facebook again and again, every year!

I have left my home! Just like the grand day of Hijrat, when enemies hit Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to the extreme. So He was ordered to migrate from His hometown to the city of Medina along with the true believers.

Just waiting for my home to open so that I can pack my furniture (pics, videos and other stuff) and lock it down forever (delete my account) with the key (disable account button).

Science stops, Philosophy starts!

When taking an interactive workshop about Iqbal studies, a lot of questions were raised that day when discussing about harmonies between science and religion. Like others, I thought that "How is it possible to just think the two words at the same time; Science and Religion?"

After some days, I was taking a lecture on Development Economics. During the discussion, our teacher said a sentence which was mere a sentence for others but more than that for me. He said "Science is originated from Philosophy."

Every thing has some limitations, Science also has. So we can say that those problems which are not being solved by Science can be solved by Philosophy. Plus there is also a possibility that it may describe the procedure of creating harmonies between Science and Religion!

And Iqbal was a philosopher.

Now at least I can think the two words at the same time! :)

Imagination versus speed of light!

Original version can be found here

The only problem in conversion of matter into energy is the speed of light. According to Einstien:

We can convert any object into energy, if we throw it or move it with
the square of speed of light.

The reason I am discussing this point is due to Iqbal's travelling in space, which he has discussed in his great book "Javednama"

The question arises here is: Can a person travel into space without being converted into energy? Because it is a universal law that one can not travel all alone in space without destroying his body(our body can not confront very very high energy).

If he converted himself into energy, then how come his body not be destroyed? The only thing which came in my mind after reading upon this incident was Imagination. It is possible that we can use our imaginations to convert them into energies.

We can't say that they are faster or slower than the speed of light, because we don't have such instrument to measure them, but we know that light takes 8 complete minutes to travel to Earth as compared to our imaginations, which take less than 1 second to create the whole scene(think that you are looking from sun towards Earth, it will take you approx. 1 second to imagine)

Everything is paired. What about Spirit?

The answer, according to me, is Yes! It is written in Quran that:
Kayinat kee her she' ko jode' main bnaya gaya hai (each and everything in this Universe is created in pairs).
So it is obvious that spirit should also have its partner. Who is it? Maybe our body, a mixture of sand and clay. It is very well-known that elements of pairs attract each other, like two opposite charges(+ and -). So our body and our spirit should attract each other all the time, but this is not the case. People who love Allah and His Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. think differently. You would find in most of their writings saying that they feel sometimes that their spirit wants to see and meet its Creator. In other words, spirit is attracted to its Creator.

It can happen because our spirit is created from Light, which is not ordinary like sunlight or moonlight. It is created from A Divine Light.

But if we say that Spirit's partner is his Creator, so we are also saying that Spirit and its Creator are opposites. because always two opposite things attract each other. So is Spirit opposite in its nature than its Creator?

Just think about it and please do not hesitate in writing comments. Because it's my only purpose to start this blog, to get answers to these questions!

Mind - A Controllable Stream.

I was busy in my studies. Suddenly a thought came in my mind. I am sharing it with you too;

Mind or Power of Brain is like an open stream, which flows from top (of a mountain) to bottom. Either this stream follows the path created by previous streams (broad ones) or creates its own way. I think thoughts of Rumi and Iqbal were like these streams which have created a narrow way. This way would become broad as other thinkers follow it.

Now the question arose in my mind is: You control your mind or your mind controls you?

Khurram Shafiq writes about Iqbal:

It was here, in March 1907, that he finally made the first major breakthrough into the labyrinth of his exquisite mind. He was unsuccessful, he ruthlessly concluded, not because he wasn’t intelligent enough, but rather because he was too intelligent. A powerful mind is a wonderful thing, but there is something else that must be in control of the mind. It is the will power, or the super ego, or as Iqbal later devised a term for it: khudi, or the Self - that illuminated nucleus of one's existence which is the source of all emotion, thought and intuition.”A powerful mind that wanders in every direction is like an epileptic hand that is unable to grasp even a pen and move it from the table. The Self, or the enlightened ego, must control the mind.
(you can read the full article here)
In other words, conclusion would be that The Self gives you a way and path on which your mind can walk upon. I think that it only implies on "The Powerful Minds".

I don't understand one thing that (in first statement in bold) "Khudi must be in control of mind" whereas in last line, it says that "The Self, or the enlightened ego, must control the mind". Which one is right?

Your comments are most welcomed.
